Dragon’s Dogma 2 System Requirements, Benchmark, Performance

Dragon’s Dogma 2 was announced during the September 2022 PlayStation Showcase. The sequel to the popular 2012 open-world action RPG is one of the most highly anticipated upcoming games for fans of the fantasy genre. While details are still scarce, here’s what we know so far about Dragon’s Dogma 2’s system requirements, release date, game size, and other key details.

These are the Dragon’s Dogma 2 System Requirements

Minimum System Requirements

  • OS: Windows 10 64-bit
  • CPU: Intel Core i5-8400 or AMD Ryzen 5 2600
  • RAM: 8 GB
  • GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 (6 GB) or AMD Radeon RX 580 (8 GB)
  • Storage: 50 GB available space

Recommended System Requirements

  • OS: Windows 10 64-bit
  • CPU: Intel Core i7-8700K or AMD Ryzen 7 3700X
  • RAM: 16 GB
  • GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2070 (8 GB) or AMD Radeon RX 5700 XT (8 GB)
  • Storage: 50 GB available space

Since Dragon’s Dogma 2 is optimized for next-gen consoles like PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S, the PC version system requirements will be relatively demanding to match the graphics and performance.

A modern 6 core/12 thread CPU like the Core i5-8400 or Ryzen 5 2600 should deliver smooth 60fps performance when paired with a mid-range graphics card like the GTX 1060 or RX 580.

For max settings at higher resolutions like 1440p or 4K, a higher end CPU and GPU will be recommended, like the RTX 2070 and Ryzen 7 3700X.

At least 8GB of system RAM is expected for minimum spec, but 16GB is recommended for overhead with background processes. Storage requirements should also be similar to the large open world original game around 50GB.

Of course, these system requirements are early estimates and subject to change as the PC port is finalized closer to Dragon’s Dogma 2’s eventual launch date. But this gives an idea of the hardware needed to power the expansive open world sequel.

Dragon’s Dogma 2 Release Date

Capcom has not yet provided an exact release date for Dragon’s Dogma 2 beyond confirming it is in development for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. Given the announcement trailer and lack of gameplay footage, a release in late 2023 or 2024 seems likely. The original Dragon’s Dogma first released in May 2012, so the 10-year anniversary in 2022 makes a sequel announcement appropriate timing.

Dragon’s Dogma 2 Platforms

During the PlayStation Showcase, Dragon’s Dogma 2 was confirmed for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S. It will be the first mainline entry designed specifically for modern consoles and their capabilities. The game will also come to PC, extending the series beyond PlayStation exclusivity.

Dragon’s Dogma 2 Game Size

As an open-world action RPG, Dragon’s Dogma 2 promises to be quite large and content-rich. While the game size is not yet confirmed, the 2012 original was approximately 15-20GB. With the greater fidelity and assets possible on new console hardware, Dragon’s Dogma 2 will likely be at least 50GB or larger at launch. Those with base PS5 and Xbox Series S may need to invest in expanded storage.

Dragon’s Dogma 2 Gameplay Details

Details remain light for Dragon’s Dogma 2. The sequel looks to preserve the real-time combat, Pawn follower system, and hybrid vocations that defined the original. Based on the trailer, players can expect an even more expansive fantasy world to explore and an epic mythic narrative centered on dragons. More specifics on new features, classes, and story elements will hopefully emerge soon.

Dragon’s Dogma 2 Trailer and Screenshots

The announcement trailer for Dragon’s Dogma 2 sets up an ominous threat while featuring massive dragons, titanic battles, and cataclysmic destruction. Promising tantalizing sights to come, the trailer builds hype for the sequel while keeping story and gameplay details under wraps for now. Several moody screenshots have also been released showcasing dark forests, a bustling city streets, and an intimate meeting in a rocky cavern.

While concrete details remain sparse, the announcement of Dragon’s Dogma 2 has RPG fans waiting with bated breath. As Capcom reveals more on the game’s release date, specs, and content, excitement will only continue building for the sequel’s eventual expansive fantasy adventure.
